So it's over for this cycle.  Quicker than anyone imagined, too.  Too bad that there are unanswered questions regarding the Diebold machines in Ohio and elsewhere, but with no paper trails, no one could ever show anything either way.

A word on all this "Bush has more votes than any president ever so how's that for a mandate" business - it's called population increase, people.

In 1980, Reagan had 43.9 million votes.
In 1984, Reagan had 54.5 million votes.

Kerry had 55.6 million votes in this election (<sarcasm>Wow, that's more than Reagan got! I guess his policies are held in higher regard than Reagans!</sarcasm>), and he lost.  The electorate is larger.  People have babies, babies grow up, the number of eligible voters increases.

So if you're going to talk about a mandate, quit using disingenuous interpretation of the numbers.
