This weekend, despite massive snowfall, I managed to see Daredevil twice. Once because I was bored, the second time because Shawn wanted to go. Plus, hey, the fact that it was free for me to get in helped.
I liked the movie. Was it great drama? Of course not. But it was a good comic-book-movie, very similar to Spider-man in that the story itself would be pretty dumb if it wasn't for the comic origins. I also liked that it wasn't afraid to be dark and edgy, again very truthful to the Daredevil character.
I don't quite get all the hubbub about Jennifer Garner. Yes, she's hot, but I dunno, she's not as hot as, say, Denise Richards, at least in my opinion... |

It's that time of year again, that special time when a hushed silence falls and all is at peace. That time of year I like to call "Survivor Season."
So this season, it's Survivor in the Western Hemisphere for the first time, namely The Amazon. And they've divided the tribes into two groups - men vs women. As the men's team undoubtedly would say, "Boo yah!"
Some quick reflections on the season opener, for those who care:
* It was kind of cool to see a deaf person on Survivor (that woman whose name escapes me right now, but I'm sure you could find out who here at the Survivor web site. I doubt she will last long, though, as the others seem akward to interact with her, making her an easy target for initial vote-outs.
* Many of the men acted like idiots, all trying to out-macho each other. But they did pull a good camp together really quick.
* Many of the women also acted like idiots by not pulling a camp together. It looks like when it rains in the next episode, they will be all without real shelter while the men will be dry.
* It was funny to see the women come from so far behind to beat the men due to a couple of them not being able to cross a balance beam without falling off.
* Jeff Probst really seems concerned about divided tribes.
